How to get an unsupported resolution?

Recently my laptop screen cracked and I hooked my laptop up to a monitor until I can buy a new screen the gfx card is and nvidia geforce gt 330m and I need 1280x1024 it only will go to 1280x768 the monitor is a LG Flatron l1750s thanks
