How do I save my strawberry plant, it was grossly overfed?

My daughter "watered" the plant with 3/4 of the bottle of liquid fertilizer.. I already removed all the earth, ran some water on the roots and planted it in clean earth. Since then leafs went brown, flowers died and the few strawberries that were growing look sick. Only a small branch with 3 leafs looks still alive, thought with brown tip. Any advice, please?
